Ant Projects

Ants are fascinating creatures with unique social behaviors. After conducting in-depth research on ants, I began creating artworks that highlight their beauty and distinctive traits. The idea for my board game started with a simple goal: to play it with my friends during our no-tech weekends. Inspired by my research, I developed a board game that brings their world to life, combining my visual creativity with storytelling to showcase their remarkable features.

From Pet Ants to Project

My passion for exploring living creatures, especially insects, inspired me to raise ants at home. Choosing to "adopt" and keep ants in my room initially drove my parents crazy, but ultimately, they supported my curiosity. Raising them over the course of a year allowed me to observe their behaviors closely, providing a strong foundation for my subsequent studies and more creative projects.

Designing my own Board Game

Based on my observations of ants and their behaviors, I decided to design and create a board game called Antarchy.

One of the biggest challenges was producing my designs, especially sourcing plastic chips to which I could attach my artwork. It was a daunting task. However, through this process, I learned a great deal about turning my ideas into reality, paying close attention to the details.

03 The Making of Antarchy :

After months of careful planning and design, my board game Antarchy finally came to life. I referred to various sources of information, including art teachers and game designers, and utilized various design tools. It took a great amount of effort and energy to turn my board game idea into an actual game, but it was incredibly rewarding to play it with my best friends over the summer.

When I first started designing the game, I had in mind the “No Tech” weekends at my junior boarding school, when students usually spend time reading, working on their own projects, or playing board games together. I wanted to create a game that we could enjoy during those weekends, bringing friends together for something fun and interactive away from our screens.

And now i get to play Antarchy with my dormmates and other school friends as well!
